Hi Medium, I’m Jade. If you asked me to describe myself, I would have to say that I’m a huge nerd. I love video games, movies, art, and books and I often find myself writing about those things. I also write about my life and my experiences as I navigate the world.
I’ve dreamed of being a writer since before I could hold a pencil. In fact, I’m currently working on a novel. The road to becoming a successful author is not without failure. I self-published one of my ‘books’ before it was ready and ended up failing. The book wasn’t widely read, or even well known, but it managed to get reviews and cause me to wonder if I should just start over. My failure as a novelist is what lead me to write on Medium.
Writing for Medium has provided me with many opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise. I’ve had companies reach out to me and ask if I’d be interested in writing for them or working for them. I’ve been able to share what I’m passionate about and make a small profit from doing so.
